Agreeing to these terms

By creating an account or using MakeCVBetter, you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the service.

If you use MakeCVBetter on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you’re allowed to accept these terms for it, and “you” includes that organisation.

Who can use MakeCVBetter

You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live, to create an account. If you’re younger, you may only use MakeCVBetter with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian.

Your account

You’re responsible for your account and for everything that happens under it. In particular:

• Give accurate information when you sign up, and keep your email address current.
• Keep your password private and don’t share your account with others.
• Tell us straight away at support@makecvbetter.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.

You can review signed-in devices and sign out of all of them from your account’s security settings.

Your content

Your CVs, cover letters and everything else you write or upload remain yours. We don’t claim ownership of them.

To run the service you give us a limited, worldwide, non-exclusive licence to store, copy, process, render and export your content, only as needed to provide MakeCVBetter to you and to the people you choose to share it with. This licence ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies we must keep by law.

You’re responsible for your content: it should be accurate, and you must have the right to use everything in it. When you create a share link, anyone who has the link (and its password, if you set one) can view your CV, or edit it if you made an edit link, until you revoke it or it expires.

Plans, trials and payments

MakeCVBetter has a free plan and paid plans. Features and limits for each plan are shown on the pricing page.

• Paid plans are subscriptions that renew automatically at the end of each billing period until you cancel.
• Prices are shown at checkout before you pay, along with any tax that applies to you.
• Payments are processed by Razorpay. We don’t see or store your full card or bank details.
• Upgrades take effect immediately and you pay the prorated difference for the rest of the current period. Downgrades take effect at your next renewal.
• If a renewal payment fails, your subscription may become past due and paid features may be paused until the payment succeeds.
• If a trial is offered, it converts to a paid subscription when it ends unless you cancel before then.
• If we change the price of your plan, we’ll tell you in advance and the new price will apply from your next renewal.

You can cancel at any time. Cancellations and refunds are covered by our Refund policy.

Acceptable use

Please use MakeCVBetter for building and sharing your own career documents. You must not:

• break any law, or help anyone else do so;
• impersonate another person or include information you know is false or misleading;
• upload malware, or try to probe, disrupt or gain unauthorised access to our systems or other users’ data;
• scrape, copy or resell the service, its templates or its content, or get around plan limits or access controls;
• use share links or support channels to send spam, harassment or abusive content;
• upload content that infringes someone else’s intellectual property or privacy.

The service, scores and suggestions

We keep improving MakeCVBetter, so features, templates and limits may change over time. If a change materially reduces a paid feature you rely on, we’ll let you know in advance.

ATS scores, keyword matches and writing suggestions are automated guidance. They can be wrong and they don’t guarantee interviews, offers or how any employer or applicant tracking system will treat your CV. Always review your documents before you send them.

We aim to keep MakeCVBetter available at all times but can’t promise uninterrupted service. We may need to pause it for maintenance, security or reasons beyond our control.

Our intellectual property

The MakeCVBetter software, design, templates, brand and help content belong to Aayodhya Enterprises or our licensors. You may use the templates to create, export and share your own CVs and cover letters, including for commercial job applications, but not to build a competing product or to redistribute the templates themselves.

If you send us feedback or ideas, we may use them without any obligation to you.

Suspending or closing accounts

You can delete your account at any time from Account → Privacy & data. Deletion is permanent and is described in our Privacy policy.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts other users or the service at risk, or where the law requires it. Where it’s reasonable, we’ll tell you first and give you a chance to download your data.

Disclaimers and limitation of liability

Except as expressly set out in these terms, MakeCVBetter is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows.

To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect or consequential losses, such as lost opportunities, lost profits or lost data, and our total liability for any claim relating to MakeCVBetter is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

Nothing in these terms limits liability that can’t be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer under the law of where you live.

Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India. Courts with jurisdiction over our registered office in India have jurisdiction over any dispute, except where consumer protection law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.

Before starting a formal dispute, please contact us at support@makecvbetter.com so we can try to resolve it informally.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. We’ll change the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify you by email or in the app before they take effect. If you keep using MakeCVBetter after that, the updated terms apply.
